Cambridge University Botanic Garden Calligraphy Workshop – Tuesday 13th October – 10-4pm
Join me for a beautifully curated ‘Autumn' themed workshop where you'll explore the art of calligraphy at the world renowned Cambridge University Botanic Garden.
This course is suitable for beginners, no experience is necessary.
What will happen on the day:
– We will start with essential calligraphy techniques using an oblique dip pen and ink with time taken to do core exercises/drills to perfect your angle & general technique before moving on to the alphabet, and then joining letters together.
– Take a relaxing lunch time walk in the Botanic Garden.
– In the afternoon you will have the choice of designing an Autumn themed greeting card, assorted gift tags, or an A5 art piece. A selection of watercolours & colourful inks will be available to use, along with a range of designs to help inspire you. If you are thinking 'I'm not artistic!', please do not worry, I will be teaching a series of very simple yet effective techniques for you to try.
Plus, take home a personalised gift bag including:
– Your worksheets, pen holder & nib, and ink
– All the pieces you’ve made
– A few extra luxury stationery surprises
Good to know:
– You will be able to pre-order lunch (for an additional fee) from the on site cafe, and they will put your order into the studio fridge on the morning of the workshop, so that you don't have to waste time queuing at lunch time. Or you can bring in your own lunch to keep in the fridge.
– Tea, coffee & biscuits available throughout the day as there is a kitchenette in the studio
– I'll have a stationery/calligraphy shop set up in the studio so that you can browse and stock up on handmade journals/ink/paper/nibs etc.
– You have all day access to the gardens included in your ticket price, so you can spend a bit of time before or after the workshop walking around the lovely spaces.
– I'll have aprons available but be wary of your sleeves as you'll be using permanent ink.

Cancellations:
Full prepayment is required at the time of booking and is non-refundable. Refunds will only be issued in the event that we need to cancel the session.
If you can’t make a workshop, but you know someone who can, workshop tickets can be transferred.
