Our Story
Welcome to Sleepy Bee Studio, founded by Gavin & Charlie, a husband & wife team based in Cambridge. Sleepy Bee Studio was founded in 2019 with the aim to create thoughtfully designed products; because we truly value the importance of human connection through writing.
The feeling of nostalgia evoked from a beautifully written letter is something that’s very special, & unlike an email or a text, letters can’t be rushed. When you write a letter to someone you are making a conscious decision to invest your time into painting a beautiful picture with your words for someone that you care about; and we want to give you the best possible materials to make the whole experience as memorable for you as it is to the recipient.
We both come from design backgrounds & have always been drawn to all things creative. Product development & creating a memorable gift experience was something we specialised in within our previous job roles, and so we have taken our years of experience & incorporated it into our business.

Positive customer experience is an essential aspect to us and is directly linked to the design of our packaging. We love creating products that give you or the person receiving them a memorable gift experience; we use handmade elements and design the products so they are as beautiful to open as they are to use.
Our brand values are important to us and we try and incorporate the below values into everything we do.
Its all about the details
We design our collections for people who value good quality & appreciate the level of detail that goes into each product. Our faux leather pouches, personalised items, & wax seals are all made in our studio, along with handwritten gift notes to add a more personal touch.
From our past experience working within the luxury sector, there was a particular focus on the many elements needed to bring together a well-considered product & create a memorable gift experience. This is what’s at the heart of Sleepy Bee, designing something unique to help create a special connection. To us whether it’s a self-purchase or a gift for someone, we think that the experience received should be equally special.
We carefully consider the materials for our stationery, using beautifully tactile & fountain pen friendly paper stock that is made responsibly & sustainably. Sustainability is one of our core brand values, & is always something we think about in terms of what we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. This is why we work with as many UK businesses as possible, and why we have partnered with Ecologi to plant a tree for every order placed.
