Introduction
I started running creative workshops because I’ve always loved the experience of sitting down to make something with my hands—it’s calming, fun, and lovely to see it appreciated when you send someone something thoughtful that you’ve made especially for them.

The Workshop Experience
A Warm Welcome
When you arrive at the workshop, whether at a public location or in our garden studio in Cambridge, expect a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and get stuck into something creative. I typically begin with a brief introduction, allowing everyone to get acquainted and set the tone for a relaxed learning experience.

Personalised Calligraphy Kit
Each attendee receives a thoughtfully curated calligraphy kit, which includes:
- An oblique pen holder
- Zebra G Nib
- A glass dropper bottle of ink
- Premium stationery to create your own custom designs in the workshop & at home
- Guided worksheets with tips, troubleshooting & resources to refer to
This kit is yours to keep, enabling you to continue practicing and refining your skills beyond the workshop.

Guided Instruction
The workshops are structured to provide step-by-step guidance:
- Fundamentals: Understanding the basics of modern calligraphy, including stroke techniques and letter formation.
- Practice Sessions: Hands-on exercises to build muscle memory and confidence.
-
Creative Application: Applying your skills to create personalised pieces such as greeting cards or decorative quotes.
Throughout the session, I will be offering individualised support, ensuring that each person progresses at their own pace.
The Stationery Shop
At each workshop there’s a selection of stationery & calligraphy items to purchase to take home & enjoy using with your calligraphy kit, such as:
- Various nibs
- Calligraphy ink
- Notebooks
- Letter Writing Sets
- Tom’s Studio ‘Wren’ pens
- Wax Seals *with a peel & stick adhesive

Beyond the Basics
For those interested in expanding their skills, I offer specialised workshops that delve into advanced techniques such as:
- Wax Seal Making: Learn the art of creating elegant wax seals to embellish your correspondence.
- Seasonal Themes: Participate in workshops centred around festive occasions, allowing you to craft themed stationery and decorations.
These sessions are designed to inspire and challenge you, opening new avenues for creative expression.
